Thanking Synge for introducing him to some Bostonians, apologizing for not writing, and anticipating his trip to Washington, where he will probably give "the Immortal lectures. I wonder the conscript Fathers will come & hear me? Please to beat my drum, and prepare 'em for giving me a kind reception. That at Boston has been hugeous, and I have already put away a pretty little nest egg for my daughters."
